City Food Share began in 2019 with the objective of raising funds for local food banks via contactless donation technology. By using our Tap & Share units, customers were able to donate £3 in shops, pubs and restaurants by tapping their cards on the unit at the point of sale.
By Spring 2020, over 20 businesses had joined this campaign in the Brighton & Hove area and over £4000 was raised on behalf of beneficiaries.
We continue to support a wide network of emergency food providers including food banks, homeless shelters, night shelters and day centres who are catering to vulnerable and isolated people who find it difficult to access food.
Since we began in 2019, we have grown to include support to FareShare who operate in 1,500 towns and cities across the UK redistributing surplus food to local charities across 21 regions and connecting charities directly with food from local supermarkets.
Our fundraising events also help raise money and awareness for our benificiaries. We love working with with the musicians and pop-up kitchens who make our events possible.
