FAQ

WHAT IS CITY FOOD SHARE?

City Food Share is a non-profit organisation set up to address the rising level of food bank usage, homelessness and the rise in food poverty in our community of Brighton & Hove. We help to provide emergency food parcels, stock and equipment for food banks and fresh food ingredients for drop in centres and soup kitchens.

WHO'S BEHIND IT?

City Food Share is run by its founder Adam Williamson, who came up with the idea in April 2019 after working for years as a chef in Brighton's restaurants and pubs. We now have a team of 4 dedicated volunteers who assist with our community fundraising campaigns and fundraising events.

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

Every single penny of your £3 donation will go to the 9+ homeless shelters, food banks and day centres we support in accordance with their resource requirements and towards our community fundraising campaigns & events.

CAN I HOST A TAP AND SHARE UNIT?

Absolutely! we are constantly looking for more retailers, bars or cafes to host Tap and Share units, so if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please email us and we can talk about the next step.

IS IT SAFE?

Contactless is the safest way to give. Our partners at Goodbox lock all machines through our merchant and Co-operative community bank account, which means money can't be diverted. In addition to this there is no need to worry about the theft of cash. Just like every-day contactles payments, each transaction is encrypted by third-parties on the spot, so we capture no personal data and your card details are kept safe.

CAN I HAVE A REFUND OR RECEIPT?

Yes, please email donations@cityfoodshare.org if you need us to issue a refund or you'd like a receipt.
