Over lockdown many of the businesses that host our Tap & Share devices were forced to close their doors or drastically change their style of service. One such host partner was The Garden Bar on Portland Road, Hove. Before COVID, The Garden Bar were helping to raise funds for local food charities.
As we move closer to the proposed lifting of restrictions, City Food Share are thrilled for Tap & Share to be coming back to the Garden Bar. The spacious venue with a huge outdoor space is ideal for events large and small and is looking forward to resuming full bar service.
"The lack of social interaction has been hugely difficult during lockdown," said Lisa Fulbrook, the Garden Bar's Marketing and Social Media Manager, when asked about her experiences over the past year, "for myself, staff and customers - especially our older regulars."
With issues stemming from mental health being among the major causes of food poverty and homelessness, the role of places like the Garden Bar in our communities cannot be understated.
"You don't realise how much you all depend on each other to get through normal day-to-day life." says Lisa. The whole team at The Garden Bar are eager to get back to normal. We asked them what they are most looking forward to once the restrictions are lifted, "Being amongst the buzz and people and seeing all our lovely regulars and of course Sunday Roasts in the beer garden washed down with a few too many beers!" said Lisa.
The Garden Bar have several options available for Function Hire in 2021/2022 for up to 250 guests (pending government guidelines). For information and availability please email email@example.com. CFS are always looking for new host partners to join the fight against food poverty. We are so grateful to The Garden Bar for their continued support, and we look forward to when Tap & Share is back in action at on their bar.
